Quick answer. The Dräger Infinity family — Gamma, Gamma XL, Gamma X XL, Delta, Delta XL, Kappa, Kappa XL — plus the Vista family (Vista, Vista XL, Vista 120, Vista 120s) is Dräger's two-generation patient-monitoring platform. Three architectural facts drive accessory configuration: the SpO2 connector generation (7-pin OxiSmart, a 6-pin alternate, or 9-pin OxiMax on the Vista 120 family); the ECG trunk type (most commonly 6-pin DIN); and the NIBP cuff variant and connector. This is the most heterogeneous platform in our hub series — the identification section below is essential reading before any procurement, and the accessory list by family follows.

Dräger accessory configuration workflow A vertical procurement workflow for Dräger Infinity and Vista compatible accessories, confirming model family, SpO2 connector generation, ECG trunk, NIBP connector and installed modules before purchase order release. Dräger accessory configuration workflow Confirm the unit configuration before ordering sensors, cables, cuffs or modules. 1 Confirm model family Infinity Gamma / Delta / Kappa or Vista / Vista 120 platform. Use the exact faceplate model, not only the series name. 2 Identify SpO₂ connector generation 7-pin OxiSmart, 6-pin alternate, or 9-pin OxiMax. This determines the sensor family and extension cable. 3 Verify ECG trunk and colour code Most Dräger units use 6-pin DIN ECG; confirm AHA or IEC. Standardise leadwire colour code by department. 4 Check NIBP cuff connector Quick-bayonet, quick-connect, A04, A118 or neonatal luer-slip. Photograph the existing connector before reorder. 5 Final PO check Match installed modules: IBP, BIS, EtCO₂, temperature and transducer brand.

Most international Dräger fleets today are mixed: Infinity Gamma / Delta installed in the 2005–2012 window, with Vista 120 / 120s additions in the 2014–2020 window. For the full catalogue, see the Dräger compatible accessories collection.

Note. Dräger configurations vary significantly by region and purchase year. The table shows typical configurations — per-unit confirmation is essential before ordering.

How to identify your Dräger SpO2 generation

Three ways to confirm:

  1. Look at the SpO2 connector on the monitor: 7-pin OxiSmart is Dräger's original round 7-pin, characteristic of the first-generation Infinity Gamma / Delta / Kappa; the 6-pin is a less common round connector on certain Delta and Kappa units; 9-pin OxiMax (Nellcor-licensed) is common on the Vista 120 and later Vista variants.
  2. Check the OEM part number on the SpO2 cable currently in use — the label confirms which generation.
  3. Check the unit's purchase order or biomedical record — Dräger documents the SpO2 technology on the original quote.

Uses the Nellcor OxiMax-compatible sensor family. Select OxiMax-compatible SpO₂ Procurement rule: 7-pin, 6-pin and 9-pin SpO₂ sensors are not mechanically interchangeable. Photograph the monitor port or current cable label before purchase order release.

SpO2 accessories by connector generation — the rule

  • 7-pin OxiSmart — most common on Infinity Gamma / Delta / Kappa. MedLinket 7-pin compatible sensors cover reusable adult / pediatric / infant finger clips and soft-tip styles, neonate wraps, an adult ear-clip sensor and a multi-site Y sensor, in both 3 m and 0.9 m short-cable variants, plus a 7-pin extension cable and disposable adhesive sensors. Because the 7-pin OxiSmart and 6-pin generations are configured per unit, confirm the connector and request a configuration review before ordering these.
  • 6-pin alternate — on certain Delta / Kappa units. MedLinket offers the equivalent reusable adult / pediatric / infant / neonate sensor range plus a 6-pin extension cable; confirm the connector per unit.
  • 9-pin OxiMax — on the Vista 120 family and Nellcor-licensed Vista variants. These use the same OxiMax cables as Philips, GE and Mindray OxiMax platforms — universal across all Nellcor-licensed monitors. The OxiMax algorithm runs on the licensed Nellcor board inside the monitor; MedLinket OxiMax-compatible cables transmit the optical waveform and do not replicate Nellcor's signal processing. The directly-stocked Nellcor OxiMax sensor family for these units is listed below.

Reading path by clinical scenario

Adult ICU on Infinity Delta / Kappa (legacy fleet still running)

5-lead 6-pin DIN ECG trunk plus grabber leadwires plus adult solid-gel electrodes; 7-pin reusable adult finger-clip SpO2 (most common, or the 6-pin variant per unit); adult-standard reusable NIBP cuff; 1–2 IBP channels with 7-pin Dräger-to-Edwards or Dräger-to-Utah transducer cables; 7-pin skin temperature probe; BIS sensor if the anesthesia-depth module is installed.

Vista 120 in ED, step-down and sub-acute

5-lead 6-pin DIN ECG trunk plus snap leadwires plus adult solid-gel electrodes; 9-pin OxiMax reusable or disposable SpO2; adult-standard NIBP cuff in 2–3 sizes plus dual-tube extension; optional skin temperature probe. ED triage and step-down have high turnover, so disposable SpO2 reduces cleaning labour, and as the current-generation product the Vista 120 has the best accessory availability.

Cardiac surgery OR on Infinity Vista XL

10-lead diagnostic ECG trunk plus diagnostic leadwires plus radiolucent electrodes; 7-pin or 9-pin reusable SpO2 per unit; adult-large NIBP cuff plus dual-tube extension; 3–4 IBP channels with closed blood-sampling transducers; dual-site temperature; mainstream EtCO2; BIS for anesthesia depth. Cardiac surgery needs simultaneous multi-site invasive monitoring, and BIS is mandatory for many hospital protocols.

NICU on Infinity Delta with neonatal option

3-lead ECG trunk plus clip leadwires plus neonate radiolucent electrodes; 7-pin neonate wrap reusable or disposable adhesive SpO2; neonate NIBP sizes 1–5 with single-tube extension (A04 or A118 per module); pediatric / neonate 7-pin temperature probe; IBP umbilical artery monitoring if needed. Clinical reminder: 2-hourly site rotation and skin inspection are the primary defence against medical-device-related pressure injury (MDRPI) — see the Nellcor neonate wrap SpO2 sensor page for detail.

Transport on Infinity Kappa or Vista 120s

Add a 6 m NIBP interconnect tube and a strain-relief-reinforced SpO2 extension cable to the unit's standard configuration, and verify the monitor battery within its service interval.

Common procurement pitfalls

  1. Ordering 7-pin SpO2 when the monitor is 6-pin, or vice versa. Dräger Delta / Kappa shipped with either generation depending on year and configuration. Photograph or measure the connector before ordering.
  2. Mixing AHA and IEC ECG leadwire colour codes. The connector fits, but the colours will not match the chest-lead diagram. Standardise the leadwire colour code by department.
  3. Buying OxiMax sensors for an Infinity Delta specified with OxiSmart 7-pin. OxiMax sensors will not connect to the 7-pin OxiSmart port. Confirm the SpO2 generation per unit.
  4. Confusing Vista 120 (current) with Vista / Vista XL (older). Same "Vista" brand, different connector configurations on certain parameters. Confirm the model name on the unit faceplate.
  5. Wrong A04 vs A118 neonate cuff connector. The cuff body is identical; the connector differs. Photograph the existing cuff connector before ordering a replacement.
  6. Stocking only one cuff construction. Isolation and oncology units increasingly prefer Nylon bladderless cuffs for cleaning ease. Review the unit-by-unit infection-control protocol before standardising.
  7. Pairing an IBP cable with the wrong transducer brand. A Dräger 7-pin-to-Edwards cable will not work with an Abbott or Utah transducer. Identify the disposable transducer in use first, then order the matching cable.

How to get a configuration review

Whether you run a pure Infinity fleet, a pure Vista fleet, or a mixed fleet, MedLinket's configuration team will review your inventory. Provide your Dräger model counts, the SpO2 generation per model, the installed option modules (IBP, BIS, EtCO2), your disposable transducer brand standard and your NIBP cuff connector standard, along with your current accessory inventory. There is no obligation to purchase.

Frequently asked questions

How do I tell if my Dräger has a 7-pin, 6-pin or 9-pin SpO2 connector?

Look at the SpO2 connector on the monitor, check the OEM part number on the SpO2 cable currently in use, or check the original purchase order. 7-pin OxiSmart is characteristic of the first-generation Infinity Gamma / Delta / Kappa; 9-pin OxiMax is common on the Vista 120 family. Per-unit confirmation is essential because configurations vary by region and purchase year.

Why won't an OxiMax sensor connect to our Infinity Delta?

If the Infinity Delta was specified with the 7-pin OxiSmart SpO2 generation, a 9-pin OxiMax sensor will not connect — they are different connector generations. Confirm the SpO2 generation on the monitor before ordering.

Are Vista 120 accessories the same as older Vista / Vista XL accessories?

Not always. They share the "Vista" brand but use different connector configurations on certain parameters — the Vista 120 family most often uses 9-pin OxiMax SpO2. Confirm the exact model on the unit faceplate before ordering.
