Quick answer. The GE Dash 3000 / 4000 / 5000 / Pro family is mature monitoring technology — most units in service today are 8 to 15+ years old, and OEM parts support has wound down. For most BMET teams the question is no longer "which new accessory should I buy" but "how do I keep my Dash fleet running until migration, and how do I make Dash accessories work alongside CARESCAPE B-series during the transition?" This hub answers both — jump to the complete directly-linked accessory list by family.

GE Dash mature-fleet maintenance and migration workflow A vertical workflow for maintaining GE Dash monitors and planning migration to CARESCAPE, covering service status, SpO2 technology, reusable inventory, Dash-specific accessories and final procurement review. GE Dash mature-fleet planning workflow Keep Dash running safely while preparing for CARESCAPE migration. 1 Confirm Dash model and service status Dash 3000 / 4000 / 5000 / Pro are mature or end-of-service platforms. Plan inventory by remaining fleet life. 2 Audit SpO₂ technology per unit TruSignal, Masimo SET and Nellcor OxiMax may exist in the same Dash fleet. Match sensor family before ordering. 3 Separate reusable carryover items NIBP cuffs, ECG electrodes and YSI-400 temperature probes can support migration. Standardise these across the GE fleet. 4 Limit Dash-specific stock 12-pin TRAM ECG trunks and Dash SpO₂ extension cables become orphan inventory. Avoid overbuying within 12–18 months of migration. 5 Final migration review Map each item as carryover, Dash-specific, CARESCAPE-specific or disposable.

Three things drive Dash-family accessory configuration: which Dash generation you have; which SpO2 technology the unit was specified with (GE Ohmeda TruSignal, Masimo SET, or Nellcor OxiMax — the same chassis can carry any of three); and whether you run a pure Dash fleet, a mixed Dash plus CARESCAPE fleet, or are migrating Dash to CARESCAPE B-series. For the full catalogue, see the GE HealthCare compatible accessories collection.

Dash series models covered

Model Introduced Typical clinical unit Service status (2026)
Dash 3000 ~2000 Step-down, sub-acute End-of-service — OEM parts supply discontinued
Dash 4000 ~2002 General ICU, step-down End-of-life announced; limited OEM support remaining
Dash 5000 ~2005 ICU, telemetry-paired Limited OEM support; functional fleet still common
Dash Pro ~2007 Step-down, ED triage, transport Limited OEM support; mature inventory

When an OEM ends parts supply on a monitor, OEM accessory pricing typically rises while availability falls — and hospitals shift to compatible third-party accessories to bridge the gap until the monitor is replaced. The Dash family is a textbook case: the chassis and patient module work fine, but cables and consumables become hard to source through OEM channels.

How to identify your Dash SpO2 technology

The Dash family shipped with three possible SpO2 technologies, and the technology is not labelled on the monitor face. Three ways to confirm:

  1. Look at the SpO2 connector on the patient (TRAM) module: TruSignal is a rectangular 8-pin connector marked "Ohmeda"; Masimo SET is the LNCS connector; Nellcor OxiMax is the 9-pin connector.
  2. Check the service menu: System → Service → SpO2 → Technology.
  3. Check the TRAM module label — the TRAM-rac module variant indicates which technology was installed.
GE Dash SpO2 technology selection guide A host-technology matching guide for GE Dash SpO2 accessories, covering GE Ohmeda TruSignal, Masimo SET and Nellcor OxiMax sensor families. Dash SpOâ‚‚ technology selection guide Match the sensor family to the TRAM module technology, not only the Dash model. 1 GE Ohmeda TruSignal Rectangular 8-pin Ohmeda connector on the Dash TRAM module. Use TruSignal reusable, disposable and extension cable families. Select TruSignal-compatible family 2 Masimo SET host LNCS connector on a Masimo board inside the TRAM module. Compatible cables transmit waveform; SET processing runs in the host board. Select LNCS-compatible family 3 Nellcor OxiMax host 9-pin OxiMax connector on a Nellcor-enabled Dash configuration. Use DS-100A-style reusable or MAX-A-style disposable sensors. Select OxiMax-compatible family Procurement rule: TruSignal, LNCS and OxiMax sensors are not interchangeable. Confirm the TRAM module label, service menu or current cable before PO release.

Ordering the wrong sensor family produces a "Sensor not recognized" alarm — no harm to patient or monitor, but the sensor is unusable. For visual connector references, see what "compatible" actually means.

SpO2 accessories by host technology — the rule

  • GE Ohmeda TruSignal — the GE-native SpO2 line, using an 8-pin Ohmeda connector. MedLinket TruSignal-compatible sensors include reusable adult / pediatric finger clips, an adult soft-tip sensor and a neonate wrap, plus a TruSignal extension cable and disposable adhesive sensors.
  • Masimo SET — the SET algorithm runs on the Masimo board inside the TRAM module. MedLinket LNCS-compatible cables transmit the optical waveform via the LNCS connector and do not contain or replicate the SET algorithm. See the Masimo LNCS / RD / rainbow compatible sensors hub.
  • Nellcor OxiMax — MedLinket offers the DS-100A-style reusable adult finger clip and MAX-A-style disposable adhesive sensor.

Reading path by clinical scenario

Adult ICU on Dash 4000 / 5000 (legacy fleet still running)

5-lead 12-pin TRAM ECG trunk plus grabber leadwires plus solid-gel electrodes; reusable adult finger-clip SpO2 (technology matching the monitor); adult-standard reusable NIBP cuff plus dual-tube extension; 1–2 IBP channels with 11-pin Edwards transducer cables; YSI-400 skin temperature probe. A legacy fleet typically has lower acuity per bed than a newer ICU, so 1–2 IBP channels are typical and reusable accessories minimise per-patient consumable cost.

Step-down on Dash 3000 / Dash Pro (the most common Dash deployment now)

5-lead or 3-lead ECG trunk; reusable or disposable SpO2; NIBP cuffs in 3–4 sizes per unit; typically no IBP or EtCO2, as these units usually lack the modules. Post-procedural recovery, ED triage and step-down do not need invasive monitoring — cuff-sizing variety matters more than channel count.

Transport on Dash Pro

Add a 6 m NIBP interconnect tube and a strain-relief-reinforced SpO2 extension cable. Verify the monitor battery within its service interval — Dash Pro batteries are now 8+ years old at minimum, and battery replacement is a separate maintenance line.

Mixed fleet and migration

Many hospitals run Dash and CARESCAPE B-series together during the migration period. What is interchangeable, what is not:

Accessory category Dash ↔ CARESCAPE Notes
ECG leadwire sets Interchangeable Standard yoke connector
ECG trunk cables Not interchangeable Dash 12-pin TRAM vs CARESCAPE 11-pin
ECG electrodes Interchangeable Standardise across the hospital
NIBP cuffs Interchangeable Same DINAMAP technology
NIBP tubing Check connector Same standard; dual-tube screw fitting matches on most variants
SpO2 sensors Depends on technology Interchangeable only if both platforms run the same SpO2 technology
SpO2 extension cables Not interchangeable Connector and routing differ
Temperature probes (YSI-400) Interchangeable Same standard across the GE family
IBP cables Different pinout Dash and CARESCAPE 11-pin look similar but the pinout differs

Dash → CARESCAPE migration planning

  1. Inventory phase (12 months before retirement). Catalogue current Dash accessory stock. Identify items with CARESCAPE-equivalent versions (NIBP cuffs, YSI-400 probes, ECG electrodes) — these continue to work. Identify Dash-specific items (12-pin ECG trunk, Ohmeda SpO2 extension) — these become orphan inventory.
  2. Decommission phase (6 months before). Stop buying new Dash-specific accessories; continue using existing stock. Place final orders for CARESCAPE-specific accessories needed on day 1.
  3. Bridge phase (3 months around the retirement date). Both fleets running — accept that some accessories are ordered for both, and use the interchangeable list above to minimise duplicate inventory.
  4. Post-migration audit (90 days after). Audit remaining stock. Orphan inventory can sometimes be sold to other hospitals still running Dash, or re-tasked to other compatible monitors (disposable electrodes work on virtually any monitor).

Migrating to CARESCAPE B-series? See the CARESCAPE B-series compatible accessories hub for the matching accessory list.

Common procurement pitfalls

  1. Ordering a CARESCAPE 11-pin ECG trunk for a Dash. The 12-pin TRAM and 11-pin CARESCAPE connectors look superficially similar; the 11-pin will not seat in a 12-pin port. Always specify "GE Dash" or "GE CARESCAPE" by name on the purchase order.
  2. Assuming SpO2 technology is constant across the Dash fleet. A hospital may have Dash 4000 units with Nellcor OxiMax next to Dash 5000 units with Masimo SET. Audit per unit, not platform-wide.
  3. Stockpiling Dash-specific accessories late in the platform's life. If you are 12–18 months from migrating, large Dash-specific stockpiles become orphan inventory. Buy only 6–9 months of Dash-specific stock at a time.
  4. Underestimating battery degradation on Dash Pro transport units. Verify battery capacity annually; keep battery maintenance a separate line from accessory procurement.
  5. Buying ECG electrodes "for Dash." ECG electrodes are universal across the GE platform and most other OEM platforms. Buy by patient type and clinical scenario, not by monitor model.

How to get a configuration review

Whether you run a pure Dash fleet, a mixed Dash plus CARESCAPE fleet, or are planning migration, MedLinket's configuration team will review your inventory and identify items that will continue working post-migration, items to standardise across the mixed fleet, items that will become orphan, and end-of-service planning for Dash-specific accessories. Provide your Dash model count, the SpO2 technology per model, installed option modules and your CARESCAPE migration timeline. There is no obligation to purchase.

Frequently asked questions

GE no longer supplies parts for our Dash monitors — can we still get accessories?

Yes. When an OEM ends parts supply, compatible accessory manufacturers become the practical source for cables and consumables. MedLinket maintains one of the larger mature-platform compatibility databases, including legacy GE Dash, Solar and earlier Marquette monitors that OEM channels no longer prioritise.

Why won't a CARESCAPE ECG trunk fit our Dash?

Dash uses a 12-pin TRAM trunk connector; CARESCAPE B-series uses an 11-pin connector. They look superficially similar but are not interchangeable. Always specify the platform by name on the purchase order.

We are migrating from Dash to CARESCAPE — what accessories carry over?

NIBP cuffs, YSI-400 temperature probes and ECG electrodes carry over. ECG trunk cables, SpO2 extension cables and IBP cables do not. SpO2 sensors carry over only if both platforms run the same SpO2 technology. See the interchangeability table above and the migration-planning steps.
